Our hard-working, talented, and skillful staff are deeply committed to serving EnCompass children and families. Our diversity comes in many forms: Of our certificated staff, 60% are bilingual, and over 50% are people of color. We have among us innovative cultural workers (dancers, singers, poets, actors, visual artists, mcís), award-winning practitioners, a published author, foodies and culinary wizards, emergency medical responders, and athletes!

Professional Development

The schoolís leadership team (the Strategic Planning Group) conducts data analysis to establish a PD plan based on the schoolwide priority lenses and initiatives. Faculty Professional Development practices throughout the year includes:
  • Faculty meets every Wednesday
  • Grade-level teams meet in Professional Learning Communities every other week for over 100 minutes
  • Grade-Level teams meet with principal/coaches after benchmark assessments to conduct data-based inquiry and develop strategies to accelerate student achievement
  • Off-campus retreat days in August and in June
  • Interclass and off-site observations
  • Math and ELA coaches provide support for implementation of schoolwide and best practices
  • On-site BTSA coaches assigned to novice teachers
  • Opportunities to attend high-quality Professional Development Conferences and Institutes
